Scholarships for the CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional) are limited - there are 5 total slots for the 2016/2017 program. 2 of the 5 slots may be filled by students. Registration is open from 08/01/2016 to 10/01/2016.
Who should get certified?
The new CHFP is geared toward financial professionals in all areas of healthcare, MHA students, clinical and nonclinical leaders, and payers - all those whose jobs require a deep understanding of the new financial realities of health care.
Why should you get certified?
To earn a healthcare professional title granted by an independent nationally recognized professional healthcare financial management organization, HFMA.
To show your current employer what you have done to improve yourself and your knowledge of healthcare finance and increase your value to your employer.
To demonstrate to yourself that you can do it.
What kind of time commitment is required?
The all-online format for both the modules and exams allows members flexibility in scheduling and setting. Get certified wearing your pajamas! A member should typically devote a total of 25 hours competing the modules, studying, and taking the exams.
What will the chapter do to support your efforts to get certified?
Provide you with access to Module 1 at no cost to you ($400 value). This includes 6 training sections followed by an exam.
Reimbursing your exam fee for Module 2, after you clear the exam ($300 value). This includes case studies followed by an exam.
Students will be eligible to receive one year of regular HFMA membership ($350 value).
